Our Hotel
This charming resort is situated 35 kilometres from Mombasa in the coastal village of Diani, on the magnificent South Coast of Kenya, famous for its vast and unrivalled white sandy beaches. There are 69 thoughtfully decorated luxury rooms spread amongst 36 beautiful and exotic bungalows. 17 bungalows have 2 rooms only; ideal for any family!
There are a further 8 larger bungalows with a 3 room capacity; making them a perfect option for a larger family or a gathering of friends; without forgetting 11 “stand alone” double rooms.
Accommodation
Our bungalows are spread throughout the luxuriant indigenous "rain forest garden", each with its own semi-private
terrace overlooking the gardens and beyond to the Indian Ocean. The bedrooms are fitted with an “Arab Lamu style”
bed, draped with a romantic and spacious mosquito net, each room is complemented by perfectly silent central
air-conditioning. The elegant hand-made furniture is crafted from local cedar, teak and camphor woods.
The bathrooms are finished in imported Italian pink granite that gives an “element of style”
to the understated, yet tastefully appointed accommodation.
Our Restaurants & Bars
The
Main "Makuti Restaurant"
This
restaurant is nestled under the expansive makuti-style ceiling, a
massive local structure
of timber and thatch, enhanced by an unusual marriage of marble and
granite.
It
serves breakfast and dinner to our guests who enjoy dining in our
"open air" venue,
surrounded by exotic plants and tropical
vegetation.

A La Carte "Sails Restaurant"
A
romantic venue by the sea!
The "Sails Restaurant" overlooks the Indian Ocean, guests will
"wine & dine" by candlelight
to the rhythms of the lapping waves and the sounds of the breeze in
the palm trees. It is a most
atmospheric location; ensuring guests leave Ocean Village with the
lasting memory of a very
special, romantic evening amidst the African night.
This venue specializes in lobster, plus the other local seafood
catches such as crab, prawns,
reef fishes and many innovative and unusual dishes created by our
Chef.
BARS:
The Pool Bar:
Adjacent
to both restaurants and ideally located by the swimming pool, this
bar is at the heart
of the resort, yet close to the beach.
Discover an exotic cocktail or simply enjoy your own favourite
drink, while the sun caresses
you, and allow our caring staff to take of
you.
The
TV Lounge Bar:
Located
next to the TV Lounge, in the Reception Hall, it is where guests
gather and mingle
throughout the day and evening to enjoy one of our selected movies,
or simply watch the
current events and the news on our Cable TV stations.
Sports & Leisure and Entertainment
Our animator’s team starts early in the morning, just after breakfast, and will sweep you away to participate in all kind
of activities ranging from the very sporty to the quieter ones; thus ensuring that everyone is catered for at all times.
Suggestions are welcome, and feasible requested activities can be “put together” at the drop of a hat!
The evening will bring an array of games and shows that will guarantee a pleasant and exciting end of the day.
Local tribal dancing, acrobatic shows, local Live Bands, dancing, Swahili lessons and many other interesting and
exciting events take place each evening around the pool where our Sports & Leisure team ensure guests enjoy their
day until the very end! The resort philosophy is to encourage a comprehensive but discreet “Sports & Leisure Programme”,
ensuring that guests’ privacy is respected throughout their stay with us.
Free Leisure activities:
The swimming pool lies adjacent to the private beach, conveniently nestled near a giant Baobab and other indigenous trees
that bring refreshing and most welcome shade in the heat of the afternoon.
There are a number of elegantly hand crafted wooden reclining sun chairs and sun lounges on the beach nearby,
allowing our guests to laze around in the most comfortable "lazy" manner. Other activities such as volleyball,
water polo, table tennis, darts, pétanque, aqua-gym classes, floodlit tennis court are also available.
Our animators will be delighted to partake in these activities with our guests on request.
A Fitness Centre, Massage Salon and an African Hairdresser will be available from mid-November 2006.
Others payable activities:
Professionally organized safaris varying from “snappy” 1-Day Trip to a "2 or 3 Day Safari in the Masai Mara" are
available to our guests at any time during their stay. “Tailor-made Programs” can be put together in no time!
Day excursions such as the famous “Wasini Island trip” and many others are a treat for the “not so daring guest”.
Snorkelling, scuba diving out on the reef, windsurfing and many other nautical sports are also available from the
base adjacent to the Resort, along with car / motorbike / bicycle rentals in Diani.
An 18-hole golf course nearby complements the already impressive range of activities of the Resort.
Our Boutique
Conveniently located next to the Concierge at the entrance of the Resort, and selling commodities along with Curios,
local clothing, artisan woodwork and paintings. Well priced and friendly; a convenient guest’s facility.
